Davido sets his pregnancy accusers free, shares video of them chilling by the poolside

It appears Nigerian singer Davido has rescinded his decision to see to it that the two ladies that played an expensive prank on him, get punished by the law. Recall that the Nigerian singer had made it known via his social media page that he would never forgive the individuals for pulling such an expensive prank on him.

Davido had emotionally expressed that after all he does for the community, the action from the ladies should not have been what he gets in return, considering the fact that his wife-to-be Chioma, just welcomed his first son.

Well, it appears the music star has now listened to the pleas from his fans, supporters and concerned Nigerians, who have prayed him to temper justice with mercy and let the ladies go scot free.

Davido recently shared a video of his pranksters chilling by the pool side, on his verified Instagram page. Even more interesting about the video post, is the fact that the ladies were dancing to his latest single, Risky.

Recall that some social media critics had speculated that the whole arrangement may have been a PR stunt by the musician to promote Risky, especially since he placed a N1m bounty on the ladies, and continuously used the Risky hashtag in all his tweet.

PoS agents slam N50 charge, operators protest

Agent banking service providers are protesting the introduction of the N50 charge imposed on individual transactions above N1,000 carried out by merchants in the country.
Some of them who spoke with The PUNCH correspondent said the volume of electronic payments carried out daily had reduced drastically as a result of the new policy.
The operators under the aegis of Association of Mobile Money and Bank Agents in Nigeria said bank customers who had been enjoying cashless transaction since the roll-out of agent banking had resorted to across-the-counter cash withdrawals.
It was gathered that some customers had started using ATM as an alternative means of cashing out, which they found to be more cost-effective.
Investigations by our correspondent on Wednesday indicated that many filling stations in Lagos and Ogun states had notified their customers of the N50 stamp duty charges on payment above N1,000 on the PoS terminals and web platforms, which they had started implementing.
But some supermarkets in Lagos have not commenced the implementation of the Central of Bank of Nigeria’s policy as their managements complained that it would affect patronage.

Alleged Pregnancy: Ladies who accused #Davido, arrested and handcuffed

The two sisters who accused Davido of impregnating one of them have been arrested despite apologizing to the singer.
Earlier they asserted that they only did what they did to congratulate him on the birth of his first son, in a unique way.
This video surfaced online days after it was revealed that the singer welcomed his first son with girlfriend and wife-to-be, Chioma.

Davido denied the allegation and also promised to give any fan who finds the ladies for him N1 million.  He also vowed to send them to jail for making such claims about him.

According to him, he would sue them for N30 billion, a video of them claiming that the first video was a prank surfaced on social media.
The singer expressed his annoyance over the whole issue, buttressing the fact that his wife, Chioma has become the main victim of the entire drama, after spending 9 months carrying his child.
He has sworn to make them pay as he strongly maintains that there’s no room for forgiveness.

See his post below;

In the video below, the sisters who were seriously wagging their tongues in the first video suddenly became meek and calm.
The sisters were spotted sitting on a chair and apologizing, while the person making the video insisted on suing them to court for defamation of character.

Taxi driver brings out his male member and starts masturbating while driving female passenger (+18 video)

The driver is seen with one hand on the gear stick and the other on the steering wheel. All this while, his male member is erect but hidden by his black t-shirt.

After a while, he removes his hand from the steering wheel and places it on his male member, then strokes it through his shirt. Later, he pushes his shirt aside, exposing his naked penis and he begins masturbating, not minding the female passenger in his car.

"The rubbish I witnessed today in a taxi in abj," the female passenger wrote on Twitter as she shared the video.

The video is quite disturbing. See the video below:

Ugandan woman marries three husbands at once

…’Mummy’ determines sex roster —One of Aguti’s three husbands says

A Ugandan woman, Ann Grace Aguti, 36, from the Ngora district of the country has been trending on social media, over her decision to marry three men, Richard Alich, John Peter Oluka and Michael Enyaku at the same time.
All the men live in the same compound as her.
Local newspaper, New Vision, broke the news of the unconventional arrangement on Sunday after Aguti’s father, Pastor Peter Ogwang mobilised family members to evict the husbands of his daughter.
Aguti, who is six months pregnant had allocated three of the seven tiny huts in her compound to the three men. It was reported that Aguti used to have more men in her home but dismissed some due to “indiscipline.”
All the men al arrangement on Sunday after Aguti’s father, Pastor Peter Ogwang mobilised
In response to her father’s attempt to evict her husbands, Aguti said, “I was married before in a manner my clan wants. But my desire is to have a tender loving husband, who can provide all my need as a housewife. My husband was useless and I remained the breadwinner.
When I left him, I started looking for that special someone, but I have not yet found him because even now, I have to feed the men that I have. So, my search continues!”
Some of Aguti’s husbands share how they met. Alich, a retired police officer with 10 grown-up children said that he met Aguti when she was returning home from Brac Uganda, Ngora branch, where she had gone to process a loan.
“Her bicycle had developed a mechanical problem, so I offered to repair it. In the process, one thing led to another and I found myself here. I stay in that hut,” Alich said, pointing at his place of abode.
Oluka, the other husband, told New Vision that being from the same village, he knew Aguti had had a number of men.
“I met her at a swamp where I was grazing my cows and joked about her taking me on as a husband too — and that was it. She allocated me a hut,” he said.
“We have lived harmoniously for close to a year now. I have no problem with my co-husbands. The consensus among us is that mummy (Aguti) determines the duty (sex) roster and her decision is final,” Oluka said.

Catholic Church To Approve Ordination Of Married Men

Catholic Bishops approved a proposal on Saturday allowing some married men to be ordained as priests in the Amazon region.
The proposal, which must be approved by Pope Francis, would be a historic change to the church’s centuries-old tradition of unmarried priests.
It passed by a vote of 128-41 and applies only to some churches in the Amazon region that are experiencing a shortage of priests.
The region includes parts of Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Peru, Suriname and Venezuela.
The proposal, known as “viri probati,” refers to older Catholic men, who have stable families, are respected in their communities and are already ordained as deacons in the church.
Allowing married men to become priests is not the same thing as allowing priests to marry, so the change would not affect the rule of celibacy for Catholic priests, who are not allowed to marry.

”I Need A Man, It Has Not Been Easy Being A Single Mom Of Four”- OAP Lolo cries out

Nigerian On-Air Personality, Omotunde Adebowale David popular as Lolo1 has said she needs a change in her life and a getting a new man is top priority at the moment.
Lolo1, who was formerly with Wazobia FM, granted an interview with THE SUN and she opened up on why she quit her radio job, challenges of motherhood and future plans among other issues.

Read excerpts below ;
How has 2019 been for you?
Fabulous! I transited from one job to the other, the year has not been as tasking as I expected. But I have accomplished a bit more. Before the end of the year, you will see me releasing my movies. This year will see me doing my comedy combat and my stage play, so it has been a good year.

Your quitting Wazobia FM took fans by surprise. What informed that decision and what’s your next plan?
Wazobia FM has been such a blessing to me and I am so excited for all the advancements; but no matter how much you love your brand, the desire to grow cannot be suppressed, and that is what I am doing. I want to keep aspiring as new opportunities open up. Even though, I am doing something new, I am not ready to give it off now because it is still cooking. But then it is still in line with radio.

You’ve been in broadcasting for the past 15 years, what were the high points?
I started out with Metro (FM) where I cut my teeth. That was where I went on air for the first time with Modele Ope and met the likes of Delight Alfred, Frank Edoho and Charles Anozodo. Wazobia FM changed a lot for me. I had my first set of awards and the job gave me access to big names and celebrities. I don’t think there is any A-list artiste that I have not interviewed. I had the privilege of interviewing ambassadors and even the vice president and traveled extensively. It has been an amazing and rewarding journey with so many high points.
How about the low points?
When I started pidgin broadcasting, I had an experience. I have done English programming for a long time hence pidgin challenged me at first. I was on Cool FM, doubling as a newsreader when I called Roger Federer ‘Roger Federerer’. Before I knew it, it was in the newspapers how terrible the newscaster was! How I couldn’t pronounce Roger Federer right. It was in a national daily, so you can imagine how devastating it was for me. I remember another instance when I was on radio as a new broadcaster and someone said ‘get that person off the air. She doesn’t know how to speak pidgin’.

Tell us about life as a single mother of four and what is your advice for women in your shoes?
Being a single mum has been one of the most challenging roles in my life. It is a situation that nobody desires, but when life happens, you take it as it comes and move on. I always tell everyone it is not easy, so stop labeling any woman or a mother that is nurturing her children on her own. It is not a disease; it is a state of being. You can’t label people just because they are single, married, divorced, aged, coloured or whatever. We just have to treat everyone like the unique individuals they are. I don’t consider myself different because I am a woman. I consider myself hardworking and a human being; it is not really about my gender. It is tough raising children ….

Woman burns 13-year-old housemaid’s stomach, lap with iron over N500

A 13-year-old housemaid, Monsurat, is battling burns her boss, one Mrs Mariam Hafia, allegedly inflicted on her stomach and lap with a hot electric iron.

Monsurat lived with Hafia and her husband on Ola Akinpelu Street, Alimosho area of Lagos and was said to have been hired out to the couple by her parents based in Oyo State.

City Round learnt that Hafia had given Monsurat, a Primary 2 pupil, N1, 500 to keep on September 29, but the girl presented N1, 000 the following day when told to bring the money.

Hafia, a nursing mother, reportedly accused Monsurat of spending the money and used a sharp object to cut her body. Not done, she allegedly plugged an iron and pressed it on the girl’s stomach.

Our correspondent gathered that the woman left Monsurat groaning with pains, and refused to treat the injuries she sustained.

A Good Samaritan in the neighbourhood who heard of the incident was said to have alerted a human rights group, Esther Child Rights Foundation, which reported the case at the Mosalasi Police Station.

A social worker at the foundation, Mrs Chinyere Tony, who rescued Monsurat, said the girl told her that she used the N500 to buy a book in the school.

Tony stated, “Someone called our office to report the case on October 8 and we went for the rescue the next day. We found out that the woman used a razor blade on her as a punishment for using her N500 to buy a book. The girl said she was the only who had not bought the book in her class.

“The woman also used a hot iron to burn her abdomen and lap. But she claimed she was ironing clothes when the girl fell on the iron.”

It was learnt that the police arrested the woman, but later released her on the orders of the Divisional Police Officer and the girl handed over to her.

Shocked by the DPO’s decision, the foundation reported the case at the neighbouring Isokoko Police Station whose DPO also reportedly failed to effect Hafia’s arrest.

The Coordinator of the foundation, Mrs Esther Ogwu, said a petition was written to the Office of the Public Defender, Lagos State Ministry of Justice and National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons.

She said, “According to the victim, Hafia gave her N1, 500 to keep for her and the next day when she requested the money, it was short by N500. I feel really terrible. It’s sad to believe that cases like this still come up in our society. What hurts the most was how the matter was handled by the police. This case was first reported to Moshalashi Police Station where the culprit was called in for questioning.

Before hand, the culprit had already threatened the victim; stating that if she opens up about what really happened, she would be denied her right to go to school.

“The victim was then brought in for her statement alongside the suspect for questioning. The victim, out of fear, said she fell on an iron, which I’d like to believe is not possible. The DPO discharged the case and told us that the evidence is not concrete enough to prosecute the culprit. We took action and wrote a petition to the Office of the Public Defender and NAPTIP.”

The case was further reported at the Anti-Human Trafficking unit, Federal Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Alagbon, and Hafia was arrested.

The head of the unit, ACP Mary Ajunwa, said investigation had commenced on the case and the woman rearrested.

She said, “They took the child to her village in Oyo State; they didn’t want the authorities to see the degree of the injury. My office ordered that the child must be brought back to Lagos and that has been done. We are trying to get exactly what happened. The suspect has been rearrested and she is in custody. We have seen the degree of the injury and we want to ascertain why it is so. The woman is claiming that she fell on the iron. But mere looking at the injury, we don’t think it is a case of the girl falling on the iron. We believe there is more to it which the woman has not been able to tell us.”

The OPD Director, Lagos State Ministry of Justice, Mrs Olayinka  Adeyemi, said the agency took up the matter immediately it received a petition from the human rights organisation, but was disappointed over how the police divisions handled the case.

She said, “I have never seen that kind of abuse before and the woman is claiming that he child fell on an iron. How would a child fall on an iron and the injury would be that much? If she actually fell on an iron, it would be the edge of the iron that would burn her.

“The girl has deep cuts and the burns are in two places. It is sad. We found out that the two police divisions where the case was initially reported compromised. They said the injury was an accident and they even released the child to the the suspect.”

Adeyemi explained that the state government would continue to monitor the matter to ensure that justice prevailed, adding that Monsurat would be taken into protective custody.

She added, “We learnt that the girl was hired out as a home help. Her parents were also hiding because NAPTIP has learnt about the case. Eventually, they brought the girl to Lagos.

“What we plan to do now is to take the child away from them and put her in a protective shelter and get medical attention for her while the police continue the prosecution. We don’t want the girl to live outside Lagos State jurisdiction because the offence was committed in Lagos.”

Lagos-Ibadan rail project : CCECC relocates pipelines, build drains, stations

The persistent rains in the Lagos area of the ongoing construction of a new Lagos-Ibadan rail line have not stopped the contractor handling the project, China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation, from forging ahead with its work.

Specifically, the CCECC workers were on Friday seen on the construction site from Ebute-Meta to Iju railway corridor, excavating, relocating water and gas pipelines, constructing drains, bridges and erecting new level crossings and train stations.

The pipelines along the new rail line’s right of way were some of the encumbrances that have slowed down the pace of work on this section of the project in Lagos. The CCECC had earlier completed the track laying from Iju in Lagos to kilometre 157 in Ibadan.

Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, during one his recent inspections of the construction work gave the contractor December this year to complete the project to enable commercial operations to begin on the 156km fast rail line in the first quarter of next year.

To accelerate the pace of work and avoid any form of danger, the Nigerian Railway Corporation recently suspended the operation of the intra and inter-city narrow gauge trains (Lagos-Ijoko, Lagos-Apapa and Lagos-Kano).

Media consultant to the CCECC, Abdulraouf Akinwoye, who conducted some journalists round extent of ongoing work from Ebute-Meta to Iju, said, “We are committed to giving Nigerians a world-class standard gauge rail line.”

According to him, the contractor is in full control of many of the encumbrances hitherto inhibiting the construction work in the Lagos-Iju area through the application of its technical expertise and technological know-how.

Construction of drains, culverts and major earthmoving activities involving the excavation of the Lagos State Water Corporation’s water pipes were found to be ongoing at the Yaba rail area.

Akinwoye said after the pipes had been located and excavated, they had to be relocated by some metres out of the right of way of the rail track.

Track is already being laid in the areas where the relocation of the water pipes have been completed along with the necessary drainage system.

In the Mushin area, wall was found being constructed around track. This, it was said, was meant to protect the narrow-gauge railway corridor and prevent interference. This would also help in facilitating easy boarding for passengers.

The drainage system being constructed, Akinwoye said, was of two dimensions; one to protect the narrow-gauge, and the other for the standard-gauge rail line.

For those complaining that the construction had hindered their movement and water system, the spokesman for the CCECC also said modern drains and culverts would be constructed in the affected areas with proper fortification for relocated pipes.

He said, “Today, I want to believe that you have seen so much. We have been able to criss-cross about 23 kilometres from Ebute-Meta to Iju. We have discovered that while we are doing this project, many communities have been complaining, especially some will tell you that you have damaged their roads. I’m using this opportunity to appeal to all these communities to be patient with us.

“We remain totally responsible; we know what befits our communities. You will agree with me that most of these drains on the Lagos axis are blocked. But now with this project, the CCECC remains committed to ensuring that we give what I call modern drainage system to all the communities along the line.

“And that is why we are building solid culverts and overhead bridges in some places that will prevent flooding and ease movement. For instance, on the Ikeja axis, you can see us constructing a mega culvert. People from the Ashade axis will now drive with a smile at the end of this project.”

Akinwoye said the CCECC remained committed to meeting the demand of the FG, adding that its workers were working day and night to deliver on its promise.

Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo (then as Acting President) inaugurated the construction of the Lagos-Ibadan rail project on March 7, 2017 on the NRC compound in Lagos  in line with the Federal Government’s plan to connect all state capitals and major cities by rail.

The Iju-Abeokuta section of the standard gauge new railway operated a daily free train for a few weeks as part of its trial run in February before it was discontinued.

Ex Chrisland School Supervisor bags 60 years in jail for defiling 2-year-old pupil

An Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court has sentenced a supervisor at Chrisland School, Adegboyega Adenekan, 47, to 60 years imprisonment for child defilement.

Justice Sybil Nwaka handed down the sentence after convicting Adenekan of a lone count charge of defiling a two-year and 11-month-old pupil.

The little child had given a detailed description of how Adegboyega defiled her.

According to Titilayo Shitta-Bey, the state Director of Public Prosecution, the defendant committed the crime in November 2016.

The police officer told the court: “The child took us upstairs to the defendant’s office. She identified his seat out of three seats in the room and she identified the restroom in the office where the said incident happened.” .

January-December budget cycle will allow for proper implementation - Gbajabiamila

January-December budget cycle will allow for proper implementation - Gbajabiamila

The Speaker of the House of Representatives Rep. Femi Gbajabiamila has said that the National Assembly is doing everything to return the country's budget to the January to December cycle for proper implementation.

Besides, the Speaker said, the 1999 constitution provides that the country's budget should run from January to December, except as otherwise prescribed by the National Assembly where there are strong reasons to do so.

Gbajabiamila, who spoke on Wednesday at the opening of a 2-day public hearing on the 2020 budget organised by the joint Senate and House Committee on Appropriation, said having the budget running from another period other than January to December may have "depressing impact on the economy."

"Many people have asked me what's the big deal about January to December budget cycle? Why are we so pressed on returning the financial year to January to December? It's simple, the constitution says so. A lot of people are not aware of it. It's stipulated in the constitution that 'the financial year shall be January to December or any other time as prescribed by the National Assembly.'

"Going by the language of the constitution, it means that what it's exactly saying is that, yes it has to be January to December, but that at any other time, maybe there's a reason why you're unable to. But in the main, what is expected is that it's January to December.

"This allows for proper timing, proper implementation as opposed to what has obtained for some time when budget is passed going to the second quarter of the year. This has its own psychological impact. It has a way of depressing even the economy itself," the Speaker said.

The Speaker added that those were some of the anomalies that the National Assembly seeks to address, saying "We seek to address that carrying Nigerians along."

Gbajabiamila said the public hearing was organised to get inputs from Nigerians and the relevant stakeholders so that all parts of the country would be carried along to reflect federal character in projects allocation.

"Basically, this 2020 budget speaks for itself. It speaks clearly in English, in black and white. ‎So, there's no address for me to give. What we're here to do is to basically present to the stakeholders the N10.3 trillion budget as presented by the President. It's for the stakeholders to put this document, examine it before the legislature exercises its full authority as provided for by the constitution.

"So, what we seek to do here is to get the buy-in of all stakeholders from the Nigerian public, because I always believe that nobody is a fountain of knowledge; that even though we're given the full authority by the constitution to appropriate, we cannot do it alone. In the House, we believe in what we call joint task: Nation Building is a Joint Task.

"This is the first exercise that we will be doing, because the budget of any country represents the blueprint of its economy and the direction it's going to take. It's the basis upon which everything else is built. For that reason, ‎we thought it proper to hold this joint public hearing.

"What's the objective? We're seeking an outcome at the end of this exercise, an outcome that will reflect the true federal character of Nigeria. No lopsidedness. Everybody has an input: North, South, East, West for all stakeholders. So, we're here to listen; we're here to take inputs, and at the end of the day, we will exercise our own constitutional authority and powers given to us.

"I must commend the Executive. This is probably the earliest that we had the budget presented to the National Assembly in a long time. We stressed on this, the Senate President and myself, when we came into office. We're glad that the budget was presented early October.

"As a matter of fact, I know that president sought to present this budget towards the end‎ of September, but for exigencies, he could not. Be that as it may, it has come very early, and it is now for us to work on it.

Signed:

Lanre Lasisi
Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Speaker, House of Representatives, Nigeria.
